The Role

We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. This is a casual role supporting our growing civil construction business. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials and equipment to and from our worksites located in Cairns and Tablelands surrounds, playing a crucial role in the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy rigid vehicles including body trucks, large floats and articulated vehicles to transport materials, equipment, and other cargo.
  • Pick up and deliver materials from job sites, quarries and suppliers.
  • Load and unload equipment, machinery and materials safely.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in safe working condition.
  • Adhere to all relevant road rules, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to plan efficient delivery schedules.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs of driving activities, deliveries and equipment use records.
  • Carry out general yard duties including cleaning, organizing stock/materials, and equipment preparation.

Requirements

  • A valid HR or HC drivers licence
  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating heavy vehicles in civil construction or similar industry

  • Dogging Ticket (preferred)

  • Licence to Operate a Non-Slewing Mobile Crane (Preferred)

  • White Card

  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to perform routine mechanical maintenance and repairs
