Vice President/Director - Data Analytics Audit

Location: Sydney

JS Careers is proud to partner with a leading global financial services organisation in the search for a Vice President/Director - Data Analytics, Internal Audit specialist. This senior leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the organisation's data audit strategy and deliver impactful assurance outcomes across multiple data domains.

The Opportunity

As a senior member of the internal audit team, you will lead the data risk and analytics portfolio and play a key role in the design and execution of the organisation's data assurance approach. This includes oversight of data quality management, records, sovereignty, privacy, AI governance, and the ethical use of data.

You will partner with senior executives and Board members to provide assurance over data-related risks, help strengthen governance, and influence the evolution of the organisation's enterprise-wide data management framework.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead and develop the data assurance strategy and framework across the global business


• Deliver targeted data audits and assurance reviews to assess the effectiveness of controls across key data risk areas.


• Partner with senior stakeholders to identify insights, recommend improvements, and report findings to executive leadership and the Board Audit Committee.


• Contribute to the broader uplift of data risk assessment and management across the internal audit function.

About You

You will bring:


• Proven experience leading internal audit or assurance reviews focused on data risk.


• Expertise across key data domains such as data quality, privacy, sovereignty, and AI governance.


• Strong understanding of global data and AI regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR, EU AI Act).


• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior management and Board-level stakeholders.


• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build strong relationships and influence change
