Citi is seeking expressions of interest to join the leading Institutional Solutions Sales team in the Australian financial markets as an Assistant Vice President / Vice President, supporting the origination and structuring of bespoke solutions transactions.

Residing within Citi's Markets (Sales & Trading) business, the Solutions Sales team focuses on the development and execution of innovative, tailored transactions for major financial institution clients across Australia and New Zealand. Clients include superannuation funds, asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, banks, insurers, and private capital firms (private equity and private credit).

Solutions Sales partners closely with structuring and trading teams to design and implement a wide range of transactions, including: derivative overlays, structured lending, risk recycling and multi-asset exotics, balance sheet and capital optimisation. Transactions span from flow to structured and bespoke solutions; the common thread throughout is strategic importance to clients.

The business is asset-class agnostic, executing trades across rates & currencies, structured credit, structured equity derivatives, commodities, capital & financing, and private markets.

Solutions trades are built on robust quantitative foundations. The Solutions Salesperson will play a critical role in the design, modelling and implementation of structured and bespoke solutions. Responsibilities will involve applying advanced numerical and analytical techniques to assess performance, risk, and suitability across a broad range of transaction structures.

Innovation is a core aspect of the Solutions Sales team, which has delivered multiple first-of-their-kind transactions in the Australian market. The team provides best-in-class institutional coverage and maintains a leading position in strategic client dialogue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform quantitative analysis to assess the performance, risk characteristics and suitability of structured products and bespoke solutions

  • Support the generation and evaluation of multi-asset class trade ideas

  • Assist in identifying, structuring, and implementing innovative transactions for Citi and its clients

  • Collaborate with Structuring, Trading, Investment Banking and Corporate Banking teams to originate transactions

  • Contribute to business growth through analytical insight, intellectual leadership, and market engagement

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 7 years of experience in a relevant role with a strong understanding of financial markets

  • Knowledge of derivatives and structured products

  • Advanced proficiency in mathematics, statistics, econometrics or quantitative finance

  • Highly dependable analytical and numerical capabilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree of equivalent experience required

  • Honours or Master's degree in a quantitative field preferred (e.g. mathematics, engineering, physics, finance, economics)
