- $148,113.00 per annum + 12% superannuation
- x3 full time, fixed term opportunities until 31/03/2027
- Wadawurrung / Geelong based role (hybrid – 3 days a week in office)
About the opportunity
Return to Work Victoria (RTWV), as a key component of the corporate strategy will establish a Public Sector relationship management function to build strong relationships with key stakeholders, to deliver mutually beneficial recovery and RTWV outcomes for the public sector, their employees and the scheme.
The purpose of this role is to provide bespoke account management expertise to public sector employers, union and industry stakeholders, nominated scheme agents and providers. Working collaboratively to deliver better claim outcomes, stronger relationships and business objectives.
Key accountabilities
- Initiate, establish and maintain strategic relationships with a portfolio of public sector employers to understand their operational context and advance recovery and return to work (RTW) objectives
- Identify and respond to existing gaps and emerging strategic issues impacting outcome delivery within public sector employers, by developing and implementing tailored supports and solutions that address specific needs and promote effective claim management delivery.
- Lead and coordinate negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to secure commitment and collaboration on projects, ensuring agreed activities are delivered within defined timeframes and to a high quality.
- Evaluate incomplete or ambiguous information with care, factoring in risks and contextual nuances, and making decisions consistent with WSV's regulatory mandate – ensuring the employer's legal and duty holder responsibilities are properly preserved.
- Manage account management to large-scale public sector employers; ensuring operations are effectively executed in accordance with the RTWV public sector strategy and contributing to the WorkSafe Victoria (WSV) corporate strategy.
- Maintain and apply high-level specialist knowledge and technical expertise of the public sector to ensure best practice service delivery.
- Manage complex and/or sensitive matters with a high degree of autonomy, exercising sound judgement while operating under board strategic direction.

About you
You are an account manager / relationship professional with demonstrated knowledge and experience of workers compensation claims management and premium processes. You are passionate about delivering positive outcomes and making a difference. Your specialist knowledge and client centred approach allows to you build and maintain trusted working relationships with your stakeholders.
Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Proven ability to build, influence and sustain effective and constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to analyse complex data, using data to identify opportunities to improve performance / mitigate risk.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to resolve complex problems and make challenging decisions that are likely to be contested and subject to scrutiny by key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in leading stakeholders through complex information/programs/issues and to gain commitment.
- In depth knowledge and expertise in the systems, legislation and regulations governing the functioning of the workers' compensation industry (or appropriate expertise in relevant industry).
- Emotional intelligence and cognisant of the broader implications of role decisions on injured worker outcomes, stakeholder perceptions and WorkSafe performance.
- Ability to travel to meet with stakeholders at various locations.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, an Allied Health speciality and/or Occupational Health or significant industry experience in workers compensation (desired).
