About the Opportunity

The Equity Team Clinical Midwifery Specialist will be responsible for providing safe compassionate person-centred care through assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and clinical leadership of midwifery care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team to achieve quality care outcomes for women and babies within the Midwifery Group Practice team.

The aim of the Equity Model is to pilot a continuity of care stacked interventions service model to reduce inequities and improve health and development outcomes of families from priority population groups..

  • Current Authority to Practise as a Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation.
  • Demonstrated effective clinical communication including verbal, written and interpersonal skills and use of information technology.
  • Understanding of Midwifery Group Practice principles and demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
