Bawinanga Aboriginal Corporation is looking for a full-time Workshop Supervisor based in Maningrida, NT.

Reporting to the Manager – Construction & Commercial Trade Services, you'll oversee day-to-day workshop operations across both Light Vehicle (LV) and Heavy Vehicle (HV) services, with a stronger focus on the LV side. You'll lead a small team, mentor apprentices, and ensure that quality repairs and maintenance services are delivered to support BAC's essential community operations.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Planning and overseeing workshop operations across HV and LV repairs
• Supervising and mentoring mechanics, apprentices, and tyre fitters
• Managing Preventative Maintenance Schedules (PMS) and delegating tasks
• Ensuring high standards of safety, documentation, and customer service
• Managing inventory and spare parts, including the retail outlet and recycling yard
• Providing hands-on technical support and guidance when needed
• Fostering teamwork in a cross-cultural environment and supporting local upskilling
• Contributing to a strong safety culture and continuous improvement

We're looking for skilled Mechanics Leaders with experience in light vehicles and heavy vehicles.

To qualify, you'll need:

• Trade qualifications in Light Vehicle and/or Heavy Vehicle Mechanics
• A valid Driver's Licence
• Experience in inventory and parts management
• At least 5 years' experience supervising workshop operations
• Strong technical knowledge, especially in LV servicing and repairs
• A willingness to work in a remote Aboriginal community setting
• WHS awareness and a high standard of documentation and communication

Additionally, we value candidates who have:

• Previous experience in a community development or not-for-profit organisation
• Diesel fitter, air-conditioning, or HR/MR licences
• Experience in remote/Indigenous settings
• National Police Clearance with no criminal convictions
• NT Roadworthy certification capability (advantageous)
