This role is classified as Level 2 (annual base salary $68,239- $ 89,139) under SBS Australia's current Enterprise Agreement. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration that is commensurate with their skills and experience and in alignment with this framework.
The Department
SBS Audio is home to more than 60 languages, 8 national radio networks and a world of digital platforms — from live radio and streaming to podcasts and on-demand content. We're looking for an Audio Operator who'll help deliver this rich mix of content to millions of Australians every day.
About the Role
As part of our Audio Operations team, you'll play a vital role in the smooth delivery of content across SBS Audio. From live studio production to digital playout and streaming, you'll support broadcasters and producers to create seamless, high-quality audio experiences.
Shifts vary between 5.30am to 11pm, seven days a week — giving you the chance to work across a truly dynamic operation.
You'll thrive in this role if you:
- Love all things Audio and Digital – You have a genuine passion for radio, podcasts and streaming, and an eye on emerging trends and technologies. Bonus points for interest or experience in digital video production.
- Collaborate with heart – You're culture-first, thrive in a diverse and inclusive team, and enjoy working across functions to bring great ideas to life.
- Have strong technical instincts – You know your way around radio playout and scheduling systems, and can confidently operate broadcast and studio equipment.
- Communicate clearly and calmly – You're the go-to person when something needs fixing fast. You listen, troubleshoot and find solutions without missing a beat.
