What You'll Do

• Lead weekly sensory & developmental classes for babies (0–13 months) and their caregivers
• Deliver hands-on, interactive sessions using a variety of textures, sounds, movement, music, light, and props
• Foster bonding between baby and parent/carer
• Share simple developmental tips and info about early learning
• Prepare, transport, set up, and pack away class equipment
• Ensure a safe, nurturing, inclusive environment
• Maintain class records, feedback, and liaise with families

What You Bring

• A warm, engaging, and enthusiastic personality
• Knowledge or interest in infant development, sensory learning, or early childhood education
• Excellent communication skills with both little ones and adults
• Creativity and confidence to lead group activities
• Reliable, organised, and able to manage logistics (transporting and setting up equipment)
• Current Working With Children Check / background check
• (Desirable) Early childhood qualification or prior experience

more information:

No formal qualifications are necessary, however reliability and organisation is key. Read on if you are a confident, approachable person with the ability to lead a group of adults and their babies.

Training in class (paid) will commence during term 4 (currently running) with formal training on Zoom will be held (dates tbc) which is compulsory. Please note that this role will initially begin as a class assistant (paid at $28.50), whilst we support you with your training and are then able to confidently run classes on your own.

Usual hours would be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday ~9am - 1pm plus one extra hour at home learning. We run classes 39 weeks a year and run in line with the school terms. As we are a mobile business and run out of multiple locations, there is also a work car that will need to be collected, please note you are also paid an extra hour for the collection and return of the van. This may not be until Term 1 in 2026. There is definitely room to progress in your role and responsibilities at Baby Sensory Hills and Ryde.

All Baby Sensory activities are based on research and theory and are designed specifically to develop connections within baby's brain that help support language, social, emotional, sensory, physical and intellectual learning.

A Day in the Life of a Baby Sensory Facilitator

Your role would include setting up the room with the equipment needed for the day and preparing for the families to arrive. It will be anything from 15-20 parents and their babies attending each class. All babies are aged from birth - 13 months. You would chat to parents, make them feel really welcome and introduce the class. With strict time management you will then lead the class giving baby development information, singing along to music, delivering the sensory activities and creating a fun informative atmosphere. Content and music is provided before the class so you will know exactly what to deliver and what equipment to use. You will run 4 classes per day. When finished you would clean the equipment and pack away.

Full training is provided and you will be mentored every step of the way. This is an exciting opportunity to work independently, manage your own time and see results from your hard work.

You will need WWCC and First Aid which can be provided.
