The Position
We are seeking an experienced professional with strong tax expertise to support our growing
portfolio of clients, including rapidly scaling startups and international businesses with
Australian operations. This role Division blends high-level advisory tasks, CFO support, offering strategic
guidance on financial management, tax structuring, and business growth. The team's current
fee base starts at $1,5m with significant opportunities for growth and expansion with your assistance
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Client Advisory
- Provide strategic tax planning and structuring advice, including for high-growth and international companies.
- Engage with clients on business strategy, including software selection, financial structuring, and mentoring.
- Lead strategic client discussions.
- Oversee and review work completed by accountants and bookkeepers, ensuring quality and technical accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Production Managers to finalise jobs and develop technical skills within the team.
CFO Functions & Financial Strategy
- Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and reporting.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth.
- Analyse financial data and provide actionable insights to inform business decisions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Participate in fundraising activities by preparing financial models and assisting with investor presentations (if applicable).
- Handle some back-office accounting tasks based on a company's needs, such as accounts payable/receivable management.
R&D Tax Incentives & Business Growth
- Assist with R&D tax incentive applications and related advisory.
- Stay informed about industry trends and government funding opportunities relevant to startups and growing enterprises.
Business Intelligence Analytics
- Partner with business leaders to understand their needs and challenges.
- Collect, clean, and analyse data from multiple sources.
- Perform statistical analysis and identify trends in data.
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings.
- Translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Stay informed about the latest business intelligence tools and technologies.
- Develop and implement data visualisation dashboards.
