Your next career opportunity

As the Manager of Transparency & Disclosure, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting research transparency, reputation and commercial research outcomes at the University. You'll lead initiatives to identify and manage potential risks around conflicts of interest and foreign interests, ensuring a balanced and pragmatic approach to mitigation. This role offers you the opportunity to lead a team, work collaboratively across the institution, providing expert advice and deliver effective programs that impact the entire research community.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide Expert Guidance: Offer high-quality advice on complex scenarios related to conflicts of interest to a diverse range of researchers.
  • Manage Disclosure Processes: Lead a team to coordinate the delivery of conflict of interest and foreign interest disclosure programs, including executive-level reporting.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with key stakeholders to optimise data handling, business processes, and training programs.
  • Lead Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and deliver briefings and presentations to senior stakeholders and committees on research transparency and disclosure activities.

You have proven leadership and people management experience in delivering high-quality programs at scale. With excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, you are capable of providing expert advice on complex conflict of interest matters that straddle research and commercial issues. In this role, we need your vision and drive to be able to find effective ways to identify and mitigate risks relating to research transparency and security.

You also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
  • Possess demonstrable knowledge of the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research and University Foreign Interference Taskforce Guidelines.
  • Have highly developed analytical thinking and judgment to interpret complex and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Show a high level of organisational capability and ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is the central facilitator of research funding in the University, taking advantage of the full diversity of research funding opportunities.
