Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager expert with experience in ideally metro station projects or major commercial building fit outs to join our team, working on Australia's biggest rail metro project in Sydney. This role will see you managing the day-to-day site activities of designated metro station fit-out projects, such as:
- Managing a team of trade supervisors, overseeing daily operations and workforce performance.
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of site works in accordance with project plans and procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities, including electrical and mechanical fit-out works.
- Manage and oversee subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance.
- Conduct daily site meetings and toolbox talks to ensure team alignment.
- Monitor site productivity, identifying and resolving issues that impact efficiency.
- Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, and regulatory bodies for site compliance and approvals.
- Plan and oversee site logistics, including workforce mobilization and materials handling.
- Effective identification of design changes and management of the change process, ensuring seamless project execution and compliance.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between different project disciplines.
- Maintain up-to-date site records, including progress reports, daily diaries, and site inspections.
- Identify and manage potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Implement and monitor QHSE best practices and internal policies.
- Ensure site adherence to project schedules, tracking and reporting delays.
- Work closely with management to ensure overall project objectives are met.
This role will require flexibility with working hours relating to operational requirements. Our project office and project sites are based in Western Sydney.
About You
An experienced Construction Manager with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, adept at building stakeholder relationships, driving change, and achieving results. You excel in high pressure environments, meeting deadlines, all while maintaining safety protocols and conveying industry standards. Additionally, you have;
- Strong site-based leadership and coordination experience managing team sizes of 20+ staff.
- Experience in metro station fit-out projects (or experience in major commercial building fit-outs), including electrical and mechanical installations.
- Experience supervising subcontractors and workforce logistics.
- Familiarity with site productivity metrics and improvement strategies.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and compliance.
- Degree qualified or Trade related background.
- Knowledge and correct interpretation of Union Enterprise Agreements will be favourable.
