Medical Receptionist

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Medical Receptionist to join our thriving Mermaid Junction Medical Centre located in Mermaid Waters, Queensland. In this pivotal role, you will be the friendly face and first point of contact for our patients, responsible for managing the flow of our busy medical practice.

What you'll be doing

• Greet and welcome patients, making them feel comfortable and valued
• Manage patient registration, appointments, and enquiries in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient files
• Liaise with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a positive, professional demeanour at all times

What we're looking for

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar customer service role within the healthcare industry is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience through accreditation process highly regarded
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail
• A genuine interest in the healthcare industry and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Available for approximately 21 hours per week, including Saturday mornings. There is potential for additional hours in the future, depending on clinic needs and candidate flexibility
