We're a busy, high-energy burger shop serving smashed patties, fried chicken, loaded fries, and shakes — and we're looking for a Kitchen Manager who's just as comfortable on the grill as they are managing a team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, perfect for someone who takes pride in great food, smooth service, and leading by example.

About the Role

You'll manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen and a small team (1–4 staff), including:

  • Working prep and service alongside the team — grilling, frying, assembling, and plating.
  • Leading and training staff to maintain speed, consistency, and food quality.
  • Managing prep schedules, stock rotation, and supplier orders.
  • Tracking food costs, waste, and portion control to meet COGS targets.
  • Ensuring food safety, hygiene, and compliance with NSW Health regulations.
  • Creating a positive, team-oriented kitchen culture.
  • Assisting with menu tweaks, systems, and process improvements.

About You

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have 2+ years' experience in a leadership position (Head Cook, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager).
  • Are confident managing a small kitchen team in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Don't mind getting your hands dirty — you enjoy prep, cooking, and working the line.
  • Have solid food safety knowledge and an eye for consistency and efficiency.
  • Communicate well, stay organised, and take initiative.

Schedule

  • Full-time (approx. 38–40 hours/week)
