Are you an organised, friendly, and compassionate professional looking to make a difference in patient care? Our new ophthalmology practice is seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our team.

About the Role

IMMEDIATE START

As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming environment. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greeting and assisting patients with queries in person and over the phone,
  • Scheduling and managing appointments
  • Liaising with Medicare, DVA and private health funds
  • Liaising with healthcare providers, hospitals and staff
  • Booking and billing of surgeries
  • Handling patient records with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Managing billing and payments

What We're Looking For

  • Warm and professional communication skills
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Computer proficiency (medical software experience a plus)
  • Previous medical office or reception experience preferred, but not required
  • A commitment to providing exceptional customer service and patient care
  • A caring, professional attitude toward patients and colleagues
