Multiple exciting opportunities have arisen for Senior Project Officers to join the Optimisation and Project Delivery division with the Revenue NSW Fines and Debt pillar.  These roles sit across three dynamic squads that play a critical role in delivering strategic outcomes for customers and the organisation. 

Two of the squads are newly established to deliver key strategic initiatives aligned with the Fines and Debt Ecosystem Program under the Fines and Debt Strategy 2030 with one focusing on program management and governance, while the second squad will lead the delivery of the initiatives under the program. The third squad has a strong track record in delivering major transformation projects that enhance the end-to-end customer experience, streamline processes, and expand service options for our customers. 

Key responsibilities

  • Provide people leadership, including coaching, to direct reports  
  • Monitor and manage several complex projects, from end to end  
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to coordinate project planning, research and delivery  
  • Facilitate the use of Fines and Debt's shared delivery framework (for delivery projects and other initiatives)  
  • Prepare recommendation packs for the Fines and Debt executive and facilitate project-related workshops and working groups 
  • Provide regular updates on project / program progress for all formal governance reporting 
  • Coordinate resource management across the program, including capability planning and procurement of external services 
  • Support benefit tracking and realisation planning, ensuring alignment with business case outcomes.  
  • Facilitate access to data and insights capability across projects, enabling evidence-based decision-making and performance monitoring.  

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Experience leading and overseeing all aspects of project development, implementation and closure, across complex projects or programs, including project plans, and meeting reporting requirements, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and in line best practice project management principles (agile, with an understanding of Waterfall and hybrid) 
  • Demonstrated experience applying human centred design (HCD) to understand complex problems and identify solutions and new approaches to delivering customer outcomes 
  • Forming strong, collaborative relationships with business partners, professional stakeholders, third-party vendors and other team members 
  • Having excellent communication skills and being able to manage customer and stakeholder expectations 
  • Preparing and supporting Steering committee and governance meetings, including leading project working groups, as needed and take the lead role in managing risks and governance reporting 
  • Planning, problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to work through issues with complexity and guide others in the resolution of problems 
  • Demonstrating your ability to maintain stable performance under pressure and/or opposition (such as time pressure, ambiguity, uncertainty, and stakeholder resistance) 
  • Demonstrating your experience in using Microsoft Office tools and other project/program management software 
  • Lead, coach and develop project teams and others in the division
