About the Role

As an import operator, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing import shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the end-to-end import process, including booking shipments, tracking cargo, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Liaise with clients, shipping lines, and customs agents to ensure seamless communication and operations.
  • Prepare and process import documentation in compliance with customs regulations.
  • Monitor and manage shipment schedules to meet deadlines and client expectations.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues or delays that may arise.
  • Maintain accurate records and update systems to reflect shipment statuses.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in freight forwarding or import operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of customs clearance processes and international shipping regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Cargowise and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
