Project Support Officer - Automotive Gateway to Industry Schools Program (GISP).

About the business: MTA Queensland is the peak body representing the interest of employers in the retail, repair, and service sectors of Queensland's automotive industry while training the next generation of automotive experts through its training business MTA Institute.

About the Role: The Project Support Officer will support the delivery of the Automotive Gateway to Industry School Program (GISP), which is funded by the Queensland Government. The role will be to provide administrative support for the project.

Main Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the Project Manager.

  • Maintain accurate program records, databases, and documentation, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

  • Assist with the coordination of program activities, including student engagement sessions, careers, events, and industry showcases.

  • Assist in the delivery of events and meetings, including scheduling, venue bookings, catering, travel arrangements, and stakeholder communications.

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of meeting agendas, minutes, and program updates.

  • Support the preparation of program reports, data collection, and evaluation activities.

  • Assist in the development and formatting of program resources, guides, and promotional materials.

  • Provide administrative support for program communications, including email correspondence, newsletters, and content coordination with the Marketing and Communications Team.

  • Respond to general program enquiries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Undertake other administrative tasks as required to support the successful delivery of the Automotive Gateway to Industry Schools Program.

Essential skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated administration and project support skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)..
  • Experience using a CRM database is desirable.
  • Working with Children Suitability Card (Blue Card) or ability to obtain.

Other requirements:

  • Occasional travel within Queensland may be required for Automotive GISP activities and events.

  • Some out-of-hours or weekend work may be required for Automotive GISP related events.
