The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our office-based team. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and preparing financial reports. The role is also vital in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office and assisting in maintaining the club's membership database. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be able to work independently in a member-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
  • Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Preparation of the annual budget and regular forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Communicate with clients and vendors regarding financial matters
  • Process weekly payroll
  • Assist with completing the year-end process through to the finalisation of the Annual Report.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or related field (minimum).
  • Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally in a club, hospitality, or small business environment.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of payroll and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Experience with POS systems and club management software is desirable.
