
APS 4 Finance Officer

Chandler Macleod is seeking an experienced APS4 Finance Officer to join our Federal Government client for a 6 month, full time temporary assignment based in Melbourne or Canberra.
About the Role
As a key member of the Finance Team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality client-focused finance services, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and procurement activities. You will also be expected to assist in preparing financial information and reports, and to actively contribute to continuous improvement of team processes and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Undertake accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) and asset register functions, including ensuring accurate and timely entries to TechOne and CBMS
• Perform timely and accurate monthly/regular reconciliations, including payroll to general ledger, bank, IT, travel and depreciation
• Assist in preparation of a range of financial information and reports, including drafting/compiling annual Financial Statements notes, preparation of monthly reports, completion of statutory returns and delivery of audit requests
• Provide accurate and timely advice and information, and the resolution of all queries related to own areas of responsibility
• Actively contribute to, and support, continuous improvement of team processes and procedures
• Maintain complete, accurate and timely records in accordance with required standards
• Assist with procurement activities and AusTender reporting
• Undertake other duties (including ad hoc projects or tasks) as required
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Finance Officer who can provide high-quality client-focused finance services. To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures, and internal controls associated with financial management, administration, reporting and compliance
• Well-developed skills and knowledge of accounts processing, procurement and reporting procedures
• Previous experience in TechOne and CBMS highly desired
• High level of detail
• Desirable: Hold an Accounting degree or Finance degree with a major in accounting, and be a Certified Practicing Accountant or Chartered Accountant (or working towards that status)
• Have an active baseline clearance or ability to obtain
