n exciting opportunity exists for two highly motivated and enthusiastic recent 
local school graduates
to join the Roads Maintenance & Roads Construction team at Cowra Council and complete a Certificate III in Civil Construction - Plant Operation.*

These roles represent a great opportunity for a hands on, self-starter who is willing to learn on the job and is looking to commence their career in the Civil Construction industry where you will be:

  • Learning trade knowledge and skills.

  • Working towards completing an apprenticeship in conjunction with a nationally recognised training plan through internal and external training.

  • Working with your hands gaining real life, on the job experience.

  • Working as part of a team to ensure safe, continuous and environmentally responsible operations.

In this role the successful applicants will assist in providing high level service within the Roads Construction & Maintenance Section. Duties include concrete and asphalt work, traffic control, manual handling and general labouring along with operation of plant and equipment associated with the role. 

Successful applicants will undertake a Certificate III in Civil Construction - Plant Operation and complete a three-year apprenticeship. All training for the certificate III is completed on site. 

To be successfully considered for these roles, you will have:

  • Relevant work experience or demonstrated prior knowledge will be highly regarded.

  • Willingness to contribute toward the success of your team.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to health, safety and environmental work practices.

  • The ability to follow direction and procedures, while showing initiative.

  • Either hold or be working towards a Driver's licence.

  • Either hold or be working towards a White Card.

Please note we are accepting applications from students who wish to commence at the beginning of 2026 or after the completion of their school year in 2025.
