About This Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to lead an exciting academic transition program for high school students and new international students entering UQ Science programs. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the project team to design and deliver innovative strategies that help students succeed as they transition into university. The position supports students at both the St Lucia and Gatton campuses, with some travel between sites.
You will join the Academic Services Management team, a dynamic and dedicated group within the Faculty of Science at UQ, responsible for providing comprehensive assistance to students—from admission through to graduation—and collaborates closely with academic staff to enhance the delivery of teaching activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
Research and Strategy: Identify global best-practice university-transition initiatives and provide recommendations to inform project planning and evidence-based strategies.
Program Design and Delivery: Develop resources, deliver workshops, and implement activities that support high school students' transition into university science programs.
Integration and Evaluation: Work with academic staff to embed strategies into existing systems and monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.
Project Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement: Manage project milestones, resources, and risks, while ensuring clear communication and collaboration across the faculty.

Salary packaging options
Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, STEM, or a related field with at least 4 years subsequent relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or training
Demonstrated experience coordinating or supporting projects of similar scale and scope, preferably in an education or student engagement context.
Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarise research findings clearly and communicate with diverse audiences.
Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Possession of or the ability to obtain a Blue Card
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and Blue Card check.
