About the role:

The
Projects HSE Advisor
provides visible and technical support for Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) across the operational requirements of CitiPower and Powercor. This includes coordinating, implementing, and maintaining HSE systems to ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of work in an effective and efficient manner.

As an advisor, you will ensure that all business HSE and Work Practice systems, processes, and requirements are implemented to a high standard, while identifying and optimising opportunities for continuous improvement.

This position offers flexibility and can be based in Melbourne CBD, Richmond, Brooklyn, or Geelong. We also welcome applicants from other locations, as the role involves regular travel across Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance over numerous projects in a fast-paced environment, including creating HSE documentation.
  • Facilitate risk assessment workshops with project delivery teams.
  • Complete inspections and create inspection reports to be received by key stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement to ensure best practice and effective work processes and make recommendations.
  • Lead and/or assist with incident investigations.
  • Present information, training, education to employees and contractors to ensure that all HSE responsibilities and obligations are executed to a high quality.
  • Assist with contractor management, including contract checkpoint meeting support, system, document review and inspections.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop reports and communications to meet or exceed internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide active support and coaching to field employees to ensure embedment of systems, processes and works practices.
  • Negotiate effectively with parties in line with business processes and requirements.

To succeed in the role you'll have:

  • Minimum Cert IV Level of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Environmental experience preferrable.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an HSE professional, with a blend of site-based and office-based exposure in high-risk environments.
  • Experience with conducting audits or site inspections.
  • A technical background, including knowledge of OHS, Environment and duties of a PCBU through applicable legislation, acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards.
  • Undertaking regular travel commitments, including overnight stays or multi-day trips, approximately once every fortnight, to support operational needs, attend off-site meetings, or engage with regional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
