Not your average HSE role.
Alium Works, in partnership with a high-profile international client, is seeking an experienced and resilient Senior HSE Advisor to join a dynamic project delivery team. This role will work across nationally significant infrastructure, energy, and data centre projects, leading safety outcomes on large-scale, fast-paced construction and commissioning works.
As a key member of the safety leadership team, you will take ownership of developing, implementing, and continuously improving HSE systems, while building strong relationships in a complex stakeholder environment. This role demands technical expertise, resilience, and the ability to influence, lead from the front, and maintain composure under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver project-specific safety systems and initiatives aligned with Alium Works' and our customer's HSE frameworks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the annual OHS Management Plan and project-specific Safety Management Systems.
- Engage and collaborate with contractors, clients, and delivery partners to embed a safety-first culture.
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and ensure timely close-out of corrective actions.
- Manage high-risk activities and support project teams in identifying and mitigating critical risks.
- Coach and guide site teams to lift safety maturity and improve performance outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with legislative, regulatory, and client-specific safety requirements.
- Prepare and deliver reports to Alium Works and Schneider Electric HSE management teams.
- Maintain a strong site presence, supporting conflict resolution and de-escalation where required.
- Work flexibly across multiple sites, with some interstate travel.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need more than qualifications — you'll bring tenacity, practical know-how, and the ability to operate in high-pressure environments. You are a solutions-focused operator with a strong safety mindset and proven results in complex infrastructure or construction projects.
Essential Experience & Attributes:
- 5+ years in project-based HSE leadership roles, ideally within infrastructure, rail, energy, or construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing diverse stakeholders including unions, principal contractors, and clients.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and on-site de-escalation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously while staying connected to a broader team.
- Formal WHS qualifications (Diploma or higher) or equivalent industry experience.
- Willingness to travel to project sites, including interstate as required.
What We Offer
- The chance to work on high-impact, future-focused projects alongside industry leaders.
- Direct employment with Alium Works, with the stability of long-term project deployment.
- Ongoing career development and mentoring through a values-led training organisation.
- A critical leadership role shaping how safety is delivered across complex, high-risk environments.
Please note: As part of this campaign, all applicants are required to complete a suitability assessment. The link will be sent in a separate email, so please also check your spam folder. This step helps us ensure the best fit for both you and the role, and we're unable to progress with your application if it's not completed.
