We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals, particularly seniors and those with disabilities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and overall well-being. This role involves delivering personalized care and support in various settings, including home care and long-term care facilities.

Duties

  • Provide direct support to clients, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Monitor patients' health and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
  • Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, particularly for those with dementia.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dementia care, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
  • Strong skills in patient monitoring and medication administration are essential.
  • Ability to assist clients with daily living tasks while promoting independence.
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate demeanor are crucial for building rapport with clients.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Certification in home care or direct support is a plus but not required; training will be provided as necessary.
