Our Mining Group

Our global team of over 5,200 dedicated mining professionals are supporting the industry to decarbonise mining operations in the accelerating green transition. About the role:

As a Geology Manager within WSP's Mine Advisory team, you will play a key role in delivering geological and technical support to a broad range of clients across the mining lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned geologist with experience in mine operations and study work, who's ready to step into a leadership role while remaining hands-on with technical project work.

You'll work alongside multidisciplinary teams including mining engineers, geotechnical specialists, environmental consultants and project managers – supporting projects that span exploration, operational support, due diligence, studies, and closure planning.

We're flexible for this role to be based in any of our major Australian offices.

What you'll do:

  • Provide technical advice and managerial input on complex mining and geological issues to clients and internal staff including but not limited to geological data analysis, geological modelling, resource estimation, technical reviews, exploration services, and technical due diligence.
  • Lead and oversee resource estimation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead and contribute to scoping, pre-feasibility, feasibility and due diligence studies.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Mentor junior geologists and support their technical development within the Mine Advisory team.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities and supporting proposals and bids.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in Geology or a related discipline.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in mine geology and/or exploration, with exposure to both operational environments and study phases.
  • Proficiency in geological modelling and resource estimation using industry-standard software such as Leapfrog, Datamine, or Vulcan.
  • A practical understanding of mine planning concepts and how they integrate with broader mining studies.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management capabilities, enabling effective team coordination and delivery.
  • Proven ability to lead consultancy teams with strong commercial acumen and strategic management insight is highly regarded
