This is a once in a career opportunity to play a key role in the reform of NSW rail influencing change for our customers and community.
You will join a collaborative team bringing your sense of enthusiasm and fun. Together we will support each other to create meaningful change within the NSW rail network.
As the Senior Specialist Rail Access you will provide expert advice and support to develop and implement TAM's (Transport Asset Management ) rail track access agreement obligations, relating to third party and government rail operators.
You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach and framework for rail access.
You will provide advice and information to drive process improvements, monitor performance and provide assurance that access meets regulatory and contractual requirements.
You will use your expertise to provide specialist input in development, implementation, and negotiation to establish a new Standard Track Access Agreement (STAA).
Help to drive improved freight rail access, ensure operational effectiveness and alignment to regulations and requirements.
Coordinate the review, development, and implementation of operations protocols and continuous improvement across the NSW Metropolitan Rail Network and Country Regional Network.
Conduct assurance reviews and provide analysis and insights.
You will ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
This role is based in Sydney however flexible working conditions can be considered for regional applicants. Weekly Sydney travel would be required for this role.

About you
You will have a background in regulation, undertaking new track access agreements to operationally and commercially improve the way we move freight and passengers throughout NSW.
You are customer centric with a commercial background. You want to take this opportunity to make real improvements for our partners and in doing so the people of NSW.
Your previous experience will equip you with the ability to provide technical and operational advice on rail access matters.
You are able to address complex queries, facilitate communication and support resolutions of access related issues and disputes across all rail operators.
A data driven person you can see trends, and understand emerging developments which will help you to shape improved performance, setting goals and framework for the NSW Freight Policy Reform Program.
You will be able to develop key metrics to monitor outcomes including key performance indicators to drive improved transportation efficiencies.
You'll have adept experience in compliance and process improvements ideally with a rail access focus and can identify opportunities for alignment and multi-modal freight improvements.
An excellent communicator both written and verbal with the ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
You will champion a live safety-first culture and thrive in a highly regulated operational environment.
