We're partnering with a well-established FMCG organisation to appoint a Purchasing Officer on a 9-month fixed term. You'll own day-to-day sourcing, purchasing, and vendor management for packaging and operational goods, balancing cost, quality, and continuity of supply while keeping processes compliant and records tight.

What you'll do

  • Manage end-to-end procurement: supplier identification, RFQs, negotiations, and issuing POs
  • Maintain supplier relationships, monitor performance, and resolve delivery/quality issues
  • Coordinate with inventory/warehouse to prevent stock-outs and reconcile receipts vs POs
  • Track spend against budget and drive cost savings without compromising quality
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and external regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation and prepare regular reports on stock, suppliers, and savings opportunities

You'll bring

  • Experience in purchasing/procurement within FMCG, manufacturing, or similar fast-paced environments
  • Confident negotiation skills and commercial judgement on price, terms, and service levels
  • Sound inventory fundamentals and reconciliation capability
  • Systems savvy (ERP/MRP and Excel) with strong attention to detail
  • Clear communication and a solutions mindset
