Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital

As a Registrar, you will gain exposure to a broad range of clinical cases suited to your experience level. You will contribute to all aspects of the clinical care of patients admitted under the care of accredited medical specialists within the Critical Care Service.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical and professional skills while working alongside and learning from some of Bendigo's leading ICU specialists.

The Position

  • Review any urgent medical problems and provide advice and assistance with clinical matters within the Hospital as requested by the relevant medical specialist.

  • Commit to a team approach in the care of all patients, working with nursing staff, allied professionals, members of the pastoral care service and other clinicians both on site and outside the hospital as appropriate.

  • Where relevant, undertake clinical evaluation of patients as their condition requires.

  • Respond to Hospital clinical emergencies as member of the MET team when so deployed.

  • Assist in the supervising and training of undergraduate Medical Students if and when requested.

  • Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Recognises the necessity to continually develop skills and acquire additional knowledge appropriate to the position.

You will be registered as a Medical Practitioner with Ahpra and have the ability to perform duties associated with the delivery of medical services to the Critical Care Service and to provide on-site medical cover for the hospital.

You will provide immediate attendance at MET/Code Blue calls and assistance with the review and management of medically unstable patients including inpatients and patients presenting for acute admission.
