The Data Quality Specialist ensures data is accurate, trustworthy, and aligned to strategic business needs by developing standards and practices in collaboration with the Data and AI Governance team.
This is a 12-month contract role, based in our Brisbane CBD office. We offer a flexible, hybrid work environment that blends remote work with on-site presence as needed to meet project deliverables. Please note, this role will be engaged as a contractor, on assignment at the Lottery Corporation through Hudson RPO.
What you'll do
- Design and implement a flexible Data Quality Standard aligned to TLC's strategic data use.
- Define quality dimensions, thresholds, and validation rules for AI, automation, and analytics.
- Conduct data profiling to identify gaps and prioritise use cases for improvement.
- Lead targeted data quality initiatives to enhance datasets powering AI and decision systems.
- Support remediation during delivery, focusing on root cause resolution and long-term fixes.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience in managing and improving data quality across systems and workflows.
- Strong analytical skills to assess data issues, monitor standards, and deliver actionable insights to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of metadata management, data lineage, and profiling tools to support governance and transparency.
- Interest in AI and automation, with awareness of how data quality impacts their effectiveness.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with a positive attitude and ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in Information Management, Data Science, or related fields, with hands-on experience embedding data quality into operational and governance frameworks.
