The Quality Officer plays an integral part in ensuring that Capability Support continues to deliver personalised, trauma-informed and professional services that improve the lives of people that we support. We achieve this by embedding evidence-based frameworks to inform, deliver and improve our services; as well as actively and systematically seeking, acting and reflecting on feedback from clients, staff and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Director – Quality, Risk and Compliance, the Quality Officer will work closely and in partnership with Capability Support's Key Management Personnel, managers and supervisors to ensure we continue to meet, and build upon, our high quality standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement formal standards and regulatory codes appropriate to Capability's needs and your role
- Identify new, and update existing, practice standards, guidance or support methodology
- Provide Secretariat support to the Capability Support Advisory Panel
- Provide advice, guidance and practical assistance to managers and supervisors on recruitment and onboarding processes and best practice
- Oversee and coordinate all staff onboarding processes and complete specific recruitment, onboarding and offboarding tasks including:
- Applicant shortlisting where appropriate
- Referee checks
- Suitability and probity checks (including CYF clearances, police checks and driving record checks)
- Certification and work eligibility currency (initial and ongoing)
- New staff induction and orientation attendance
- Identify instances of 'abandonment of employment' and commence offboarding processes in consultation with line managers
- Develop systems and processes to ensure completion of ongoing reporting obligations (including for regulated restrictive practices and reportable incidents)
- Implement appropriate statistical and quality tools to monitor and improve business performance
- Support the implementation of Capability's Risk Framework, including through active risk management
- Promote, support and demonstrate the importance of continuous improvement
- Support the development of policies and procedures throughout the organisation
Key Requirements
Essential:
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build productive working relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Current Working with Vulnerable People registration, or capacity to gain this
- Current CYF clearance, or capacity to gain this
- Current Police Check, or capacity to achieve this
- Current drivers licence
- Roadworthy, registered and insured vehicle
Highly desirable:
- Relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications (business, administration etc)
- Experience with recruitment processes and/or project management
- Awareness of trauma-informed care approaches
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
