
Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager

As our Community and Stakeholder Engagement officer for Empatcare Disability Services Pty Ltd, you will play a key role in developing and delivering engagement strategies that build trust, Establishing and Maintaining Networks: Building strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships with NDIS participants, their families, and support networks. This also extends to other service providers, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), NDIA representatives, advocacy groups, and relevant community organizations.
Roles and Responsibilities
1 Developing Engagement Strategies: Creating comprehensive stakeholder and community engagement plans aligned with the NDIS framework and the organization's strategic goals. This includes identifying key stakeholder groups (participants, families, carers, support coordinators, other service providers, local community groups, government agencies, etc.) and tailoring engagement approaches for each.
2 Community Capacity Building: Developing and implementing initiatives that empower the community and NDIS participants, for example, through education, workshops, and information sessions about the NDIS, disability rights, and available services.
Marketing and Promotion: Designing and overseeing the production of informational materials (online and hardcopy) to promote the organization's NDIS services and values. This often involves managing social media, website content, and other communication channels.
Relationship Building and Management: Establishing and Maintaining Networks: Building strong, respectful, and collaborative relationships with NDIS participants, their families, and support networks. This also extends to other service providers, Local Area Coordinators (LACs), NDIA representatives, advocacy groups, and relevant community organizations. Representing the Organization: Acting as a key point of contact and representative for the organization at local, regional, and sometimes state-wide forums, events, and information-sharing activities.
Participant and Community Advocacy: Understanding Needs: Actively listening to the needs, feedback, and aspirations of NDIS participants and the community to inform service development and improvements. This might involve surveys, focus groups, and direct engagement. Advocacy and Information Sharing: Providing expert advice and information on NDIS processes, eligibility, and service options to participants and their families. This often involves assisting individuals in navigating the NDIS system. Promoting Choice and Control: Ensuring that engagement activities uphold the NDIS principles of choice and control, empowering participants to make informed decisions about their supports.
Operational and Administrative Duties: Research and Analysis: Undertaking research to identify new opportunities, market trends, and emerging community needs that could inform service expansion or improvement. Reporting and Evaluation: Monitoring and tracking engagement activities, collecting feedback, and preparing reports on outcomes, engagement metrics, and community impact for internal and external stakeholders. * Compliance and Quality: Ensuring all engagement activities adhere to NDIS Practice Standards, the NDIS Code of Conduct, and the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework. Budget Management: Managing budgets related to engagement activities, ensuring efficient use of resources. Team Collaboration: Working closely with internal teams (e.g., service delivery, intake, clinical staff) to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to participant support and engagement.
Specific to NDIS Context: Possessing a deep understanding of the NDIS scheme, its rules, policies, and ongoing reforms to effectively communicate changes and implications to stakeholders. Service Agreement Support: While not always direct, they may support the development of service agreements by ensuring participants understand the services available and that agreements align with their NDIS plans. Transition Support: Assisting participants and their families, particularly children with developmental delays or disabilities (e.g., within Early Childhood Early Intervention - ECEI - frameworks), to navigate the NDIS and access appropriate services.

Pay: $95,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
