So what's the role about?

The Automotive Technician & Accessory Fitter role is a full-time position working where you are required to perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, diagnose, repair, and service as per the detailed Toyota product warranty guidelines, company policy, and workshop foreman instruction.

  • Providing expert advice in relation to the current mechanical condition of vehicles
  • Taking all necessary diagnostic steps to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
  • Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission, and the suspension systems
  • Reporting all necessary work, service, or repairs to the Service Manager and recording information using in-house databases or reporting systems
  • Ordering parts needed as part of the warranty service
  • Providing guidance and training to apprentice service technicians
  • Maintaining an up to date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to the dealer product range
  • Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
  • Ensuring the safe work practices of all staff
  • Test driving and conducting final assessments prior to the delivery or return of vehicles to customers
  • Providing high-level customer service to the dealership's guests
  • Other duties as directed

So who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Well presented
  • Good communication skills
  • Current trade qualifications
  • Experience with passenger & light commercial vehicles
  • Toyota dealership experience an advantage but not essential
  • Must hold a manual current driver's license
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • ARC – Refrigerant Handling Licence (preferred not essential)
  • Road Worthy Certifier qualification (preferred not essential)
