
Procurement Category Manager

We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join our national team and play a key role in driving Tassal's procurement transformation.
Reporting to the General Manager – Supply Chain & Procurement, this role leads category strategy development and execution across key spend areas, applying a PMO-driven approach to procurement. You'll be responsible for delivering commercial value, supplier performance, and ESG outcomes while acting as a strategic business partner across our operations.
This position is both strategic and hands-on, driving structured sourcing projects, supplier governance, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen Tassal's end-to-end supply chain performance.

Location: Flexibility to be based in either Hobart or Sydney
Key Focus Areas
- Lead development and execution of multi-year category strategies.
- Apply PMO principles and structured sourcing methodologies to major procurement initiatives.
- Manage supplier performance through segmentation, scorecards, and quarterly business reviews.
- Deliver annual cost reduction and value creation targets through strong commercial negotiation.
- Drive sustainability, innovation, and digital procurement improvements.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders across supply chain, operations, and finance.
About You
You're a commercially minded procurement professional with the ability to think strategically and deliver operationally. You bring:
- Proven experience in category management and strategic sourcing.
- Strong negotiation and contract management capability.
- Analytical and data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Experience working within a structured PMO or governance environment.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainability.
