The Senior Cloud Security Specialist will be responsible for supporting and enhancing the information security framework through the implementation of new initiatives and technologies, with a strong focus on cloud security and operational excellence. This role combines cloud security expertise with broader cyber security responsibilities to protect Helia's multi-cloud environment and digital assets.
Responsibilities
Cloud Security Focus
Design, implement and maintain cyber security controls in cloud environments
Secure and maintain cloud architectures leveraging 'infrastructure as code' solutions, automation, and posture management tools
Conduct regular risk assessments and threat modelling specific to cloud assets
Identify, prioritise, and manage security risks across multi-cloud environments
Ensure compliance with cloud security best practices and architectural design patterns
Contribute to cloud security awareness by actively engaging with business stakeholders and product owner
Operate, manage and maintain security technologies including:
Vulnerability management platforms
Continuously monitor networks, systems, and cloud infrastructure for security threats.
Manage the vulnerability
Respond to and investigate security incidents, implementing preventive measures.
Incorporate threat intelligence to defend against emerging cyber threats.
Create and maintain documentation for code, platforms, and services.
Cloud security tools and platforms
Firewalls (network and web application)
EDR/XDR systems
Data loss prevention (DLP) solutions
Identity and access management systems
Security event monitoring (SIEM)
Reverse proxies and authentication systems
Additional Responsibilities
Champion and develop the Cyber Operations Team's scrum delivery framework
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, Development, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management) and
Drive enhancement of the cyber security framework through new initiatives
Communicate security-related issues and recommendations to all stakeholders
Qualifications
10 years of working experience in cloud and at least 5 years in cloud security
Possess relevant cloud and security certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, Palo Alto, Zscaler)
Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure is also desirable, ideally obtained in highly regulated environments
Strong understanding of cloud security principles, architectures, and best practices
Tertiary qualification in an IT related discipline.
Viewing cybersecurity from a DevSecOps lens and integrating security practices and principles into the DevOps workflow as code (IaC).
Strong knowledge of information security technologies and concepts.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
Results-driven self-starter with strong team collaboration skills.
