Lead Innovation with Impact
Join Horizon Power as our Data and AI Manager and lead the charge in building scalable, secure, and reusable data and AI platforms and solutions. You'll guide a team of six experts, drive innovation, and help product teams deliver faster, smarter solutions.

You'll champion data product thinking, integrate DataOps and AIOps, and promote a data-driven culture across the business. From mentoring your team to managing vendors and budgets, you'll ensure our platforms stay modern, ethical, and aligned with business goals.

What You'll Do

  • Platform Leadership: Drive the strategy and delivery of secure, scalable, and reusable data and AI platforms and solutions.
  • Delivery Excellence: Enable faster delivery of cloud-native data lakes, warehouses, pipelines, and AI/GenAI solutions by embedding Data & AI Ops and automation.
  • Operational Integrity: Lead the performance, resilience and continuous improvements of data & AI platforms and solutions.
  • Governance & Ethics: Establish data governance frameworks and promote ethical AI practices.
  • Innovation Driver: Evaluate emerging technologies and pilot solutions that unlock new opportunities.
  • Team Empowerment: Mentor a high-performing team of data engineers, BI Analysts, and AI specialists.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across the business and manage vendor partnerships.
  • Risk & Financial Stewardship: Guide investment decisions and manage total cost of ownership across the data and AI portfolio.
  • Change Champion: Promote data literacy and foster a data-driven culture.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven leader with 7+ years in data engineering, data science, or AI teams.
  • Extensive experience in cloud-based data platforms and solutions, data governance, and AI/GenAI implementation.
  • Passion for ethical AI, innovation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong commercial acumen — you know how to manage vendors, negotiate contracts, and get great results.
  • Tertiary qualifications in data and AI, computer science, or related fields.
  • Certifications in data management, AI, or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile) are highly regarded.
  • Experience in the energy and utilities sector is a plus.
