Department for Infrastructure and Transport
Job reference: 697082
Location: ADELAIDE
Job status: Ongoing
Eligibility: Open to Everyone
At the Department for Infrastructure and Transport, we are connecting South Australia to keep our State moving. We are responsible for delivering a multi-billion-dollar pipeline of transformative transport and social infrastructure projects, operating and maintaining thousands of kilometres of roads and managing our city's public transport network.
Our work encompasses every part of our State; from our cities to our regions, connecting and strengthening community. We value diversity and inclusion and foster an environment of collaboration, flexibility, and support for our people.
The Opportunity
Are you someone who thrives on organisation, collaboration, and making a real impact behind the scenes? This is your chance to step into a meaningful role that supports the delivery of essential road maintenance services across South Australia.
As a Contract Officer, you'll be part of a supportive and experienced team that plays a key role in keeping the state's road network running smoothly. From managing contractual correspondence to coordinating meetings and verifying payments, your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure contracts are delivered efficiently and effectively.
You'll work closely with senior contract managers, service providers, and internal stakeholders, gaining valuable insight into public sector contract management while building your skills in a dynamic environment. If you're proactive, organised, and take pride in supporting complex work with precision and care, we'd love to hear from you.
This is more than just a job—it's a great opportunity to grow your career while helping deliver services that benefit communities across the state.
About you
You are a detail-oriented professional with proven experience in contract administration, including managing payments, coordinating meetings, and maintaining accurate records in line with government and departmental policies. You thrive under broad direction, consistently delivering high volumes of accurate work and providing well-considered analysis and recommendations -even in sensitive or complex situations.
Your strong communication skills enable you to engage effectively at all levels, resolve conflict constructively, and contribute to positive and productive negotiations. You are confident in preparing clear, concise, and professional correspondence and reports. With a proactive mindset, you take ownership of your work and bring practical, innovative solutions to the table.
