The opportunity
We have an opportunity to join our highly regarded Construction & Infrastructure practice in Brisbane.
You'll be part of a sub-team of 15 lawyers specialising in all aspects of front-end and back-end construction, acting for a broad range of prominent clients across diverse projects. Working closely with Partners Colin Harris and Paul Gordon, you will gain hands-on experience across a wide range of matters, from disputes to project advisory work.
You will support senior lawyers and develop your technical skills through legal research, contract review and drafting submissions.
You will be involved in gathering and organising evidence and gradually applying your developing knowledge of construction law to real-world matters. With regular opportunities to participate in client meetings and day-to-day matter management, you will build strong client-facing skills while contributing to the team's established workflow. As your experience grows, you will be supported to take on increasing autonomy and client responsibility.
To succeed in this role, ideally, you'll have
- 2+ years post admission experience
- excellent communication skills
- exposure to, and interest in, construction law
- strong drafting skills
- commercial acumen and critical thinking capabilities
