The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced, commercially astute Senior Operations Manager to lead their Queensland operations. This pivotal role sits at the heart of the supply chain, where you will oversee logistics, customer service delivery, and third-party provider management – all while inspiring a capable workforce to perform at their best.

With a blue-collar team underpinned by a strong union industrial agreement, our client has earned a reputation as an Employer of Choice. As Senior Operations Manager, you'll ensure operations run safely, efficiently, and productively while driving customer outcomes and building lasting stakeholder relationships.

You will report directly to the newly appointed General Manager – Operations, playing a key leadership role within the national operations team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operational deliverables across cargo types including containers, steel, roll-on roll-off and port project cargoes (e.g. wind turbines).
  • Provide strong, visible leadership to four direct reports and their teams, ensuring accountability and high performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, IT) to support operational excellence.
  • Drive safety, compliance and culture, maintaining an engaged and high-performing workforce.
  • Ensure customer and contractual requirements are consistently achieved, making decisions with integrity, agility, and a commercial mindset.
  • Be available, when required, to support irregular and pre-planned shifts in a 24/7 operational environment.
