Senior Electrical Engineer

Partum Engineering is a leading Australian engineering consultancy based in Burswood, Western Australia. With over 30 years of experience, Partum delivers innovative, end-to-end power engineering design services, specialising in power transmission and distribution systems. The RolePartum are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Partum Engineering business in our Burswood, WA location.Reporting directly to the Team Lead for the discipline group the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for:

• Secondary electrical design of distribution, sub-transmission and transmissions substations.
• Maintaining expected current design standards as set by legislative requirements.
• Liaising with both internal and other stakeholders regarding engineering related matters and ensuring that any technical difficulties are articulated and resolved promptly.
• Identifying changes, design and/or constructability issues, and liaise with site management in providing logical solutions.
• Assisting in completing Construction Verification, Turnover / Handover Packages including sign-offs, including setting and maintaining design issue milestones and standards.
• Assisting the Project Team with the coordination of all works, allocation of resources, fee negotiations and compliance to contract milestones.
• Ensure the electrical contractor meets the technical requirements of the contract.
• Preparation of protection philosophy documentation, AC and DC system sizing and CT/VT calculations.

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification - Bachelor (Minimum)
• 5+ years experience in an Electrical Project Engineering role.
• 5+ years industry experience
• High Voltage Electrical Experience
• Experience within the construction, utilities, or resource industry.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, drawings and documentation.
• OHS Construction Induction Card.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• National police clearance.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Established communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level IT knowledge, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Well organised with strong time management skills.
• High regard for safety and safe work practices.
• Ability to effectively prioritise and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently using own initiative and within a cohesive team environment.

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

• Previous experience in the utilities/construction/resources industry is desirable.
• Experience in SCADA and network communications design and engineering.
• Testing and commissioning experience.
