Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Casual Disability Support Worker to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of our clients by providing essential support and fostering their independence. The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of 35−35 - 35−40.
Key Responsibilities
As a Disability Support Worker with Candocare Services, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting clients with personal care, including daily hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
Providing support with household tasks such as meal preparation, light cleaning, and laundry.
Facilitating community access and social participation, including transportation to appointments, social outings, and recreational activities.
Offering emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and encouraging environment.
Adhering to individual support plans and promoting client independence.
Maintaining accurate and timely records of support provided.
Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and the Candocare Services team.
Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and empathetic approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Physical ability to perform duties required by the role.
A valid Australian Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
A National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
Understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) principles (desirable).
Education and Experience
While formal qualifications are not always required, a Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, Home and Community Care, or Individual Support is highly regarded.
Previous experience in a disability support role, or a similar caregiving capacity, is beneficial.Benefits of Working with Candocare Services
