Role impact & contribution

You will help to drive the delivery of high-quality advice and analysis to secure good financial and economic reform outcomes for NSW. The role will have a leading role in the development of analysis and advice on a wide range of complex economic policy issues arising in intergovernmental fora, in partnership with teams across Treasury and guiding junior team members in achieving the branches strategic objectives.

What you can bring to the role

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Holds tertiary qualifications in Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Law, or possesses equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong track record in delivering strategic policy or commercial advice and/or economic analysis in data-driven, customer-focused environments.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate teams to analyse data, apply critical thinking across diverse policy areas, and generate insights that inform policy advice or economic and revenue forecasting.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex and technical information clearly and appropriately for varied audiences, including senior executives and the Treasurer.
  • Brings a collaborative and analytical mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based outcomes.
