Maitland, New South Wales, Australia Pearl Home Care Newcastle and Hunter Full time $93,600 per year

Pearl Home Care Newcastle and Hunter is looking for Home Care Support Workers / Domestic Assistants who don't just want to fill their working week with shifts – they want to provide continuity of care and friendship to our valued consumers. Enjoy a fulfilling, flexible work environment within the convenience of your local area, as you assist Australians to live well and positively in their own homes. You will be supported by a passionate team of health professionals dedicated to delivering excellent standard of care.

Our approach to home care is simple: If we provide outstanding one-on-one care and assistance in the home environment, our consumers can remain living comfortably and confidently in their own homes for as long as possible.

No one wants a revolving door of carers who don't have the time to really get to know the person, their schedule or care needs. That is why we always pay more than the award rate to ensure we can attract the right workers who have a genuine interest in long-term relationships and quality of care over time.

We currently have multiple positions available for Home Care Support Workers, who are passionate about providing high quality care to our Home Care consumers in the Nelson Bay areas.

  • Providing companionship, support at home.

  • Assisting people to perform important daily activities.

  • Undertaking tasks outside the home such as shopping, appointments, outings and group activities.

  • Domestic assistance: assist with domestic cleaning, meal preparation, laundry and housework.

Most importantly, you should possess the ability to participate in activities and hobbies with our valued consumers and participants providing them the opportunity to socialise, experience new things, improve their physical health and relieve stress. By getting to know our consumers individually, you will help them engage in rewarding activities and discussions that interest them, enhance their wellbeing and self-esteem, and increase their sense of self-worth.

Skills and requirements:

  • Previous experience as a support worker in the Aged Care and/or Disability Sector (Optional)

  • Previous experience from within a cleaning or housekeeping environment or a healthcare industry (Optional)
