Lumia Care is seeking a reliable and compassionate Support Worker to assist a client living with limited vision and recovering from a recent stroke. The ideal candidate will be patient, attentive, and confident providing both in-home and community-based support.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting clients with vision impairment, stroke recovery, or mobility limitations
  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care (highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and observational skills
  • Patience, reliability, and a gentle approach to care
  • Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle (essential)

Your Role Includes:

Domestic Assistance & Cleaning

  • General household cleaning and tidying
  • Light meal preparation as required

Personal Care & Hygiene

  • Support and guidance when getting in and out of the shower
  • Client showers independently, standby assistance required to ensure safety and comfort

Transport & Community Access

  • Transport to Blind Bowls every second Wednesday
  • Support with grocery shopping and medical appointments
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities

Emotional Support

  • Provide reassurance and calm presence if client becomes unsettled
  • Promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Police Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Full Australian Work Rights
