
NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Lead

About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Lead, to help us not only meet the NDIS Commission requirements in relation to best practice, but to also embed and build a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
As the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Lead, you will have three key areas of responsibility:
Quality and Safeguarding:
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a proactive quality management system that aligns with the NDIS Practice Standards and embeds policies, procedures, and tools to support safe, rights-based, and high-quality service delivery.
- Provide training and support to staff on safeguarding principles and policies, participant rights, safe practices, and choice, and early identification of risk.
- Lead internal audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement initiatives across to strengthen service quality and risk prevention.
Compliance and Risk:
- Monitor ongoing compliance with NDIS legislation, registration requirements, and other relevant legal frameworks.
- Develop and maintain accurate records and documentation required by regulators and key stakeholders, including proactive evidence of quality and safeguarding efforts.
- Coordinate timely and well-informed responses to NDIS Commission enquiries, audits, and investigations.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the centralised Risk, Compliance and Safeguarding team to promote a proactive approach to safeguarding, including embedding preventative strategies that uphold participants' rights, safety, and wellbeing.
- Work alongside operational managers to identify service gaps, implement improvements and build a culture of accountability and best practice.
- Organise and facilitate localised reference group meetings with staff, participants, and stakeholders to inform continuous improvement and co-design preventative approaches.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, delivering information with clarity and conciseness in a convincing manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills particularly in relation to treating others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect. Considers and appropriately responds to the needs and feelings of different people in different situations.
- Experience in managing compliance, audit and quality management systems within the disability or human services sector
- Capacity to balance compliance requirements with practical service considerations.
- Proven ability to design and deliver training on compliance, quality standards, incident response, and safeguarding.
- Strong interpersonal skills particularly in relation to treating others with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect.
You will also need
- Tertiary qualifications in Disability Leadership, Quality Management or commensurate significant (5 years +) experience and relevant professional development.
- Current NDIS Worker Screen Check.
- Current Western Australian Drivers Licence.
