The Opportunity
Based primarily in our Cannington Office, the Director of Quality Practice leads strategic quality governance, clinical excellence, and service innovation across diverse programs. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the role drives a culture of continuous improvement and professional integrity through enterprise-wide frameworks and evidence-informed practice. It also identifies opportunities for service growth and strategic partnerships, influencing decision-making and positioning Communicare as a sector leader.
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Cultivate strategic collaboration across teams and external partners to identify and leverage opportunities that enhance sector capacity, drive service innovation, and address evolving community needs.
- Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams within and beyond Practice Quality Services, fostering capability, innovation, and leadership development across the organisation
- Ensure rigorous reporting and compliance across budgetary, contractual, and regulatory domains, aligning quality practice with organisational governance and accountability frameworks.
- Maintain a strong focus on quality and effectiveness by using data, evidence, and evaluation to inform decisions, while supporting staff through training and development
- Monitor and ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements, providing clear guidance and support to teams
- Build & maintain strategic relationships with government, funders, and community leaders to identify and activate opportunities for organisational growth and sector capacity-building.
- Oversee the preparation and lodgement of grant and tender applications, ensuring high-quality submissions and tracking success rates to inform future funding strategies.
- Promote awareness around psychologically safe practices, embedding safety as a core component of service delivery and workforce engagement.
The Requirements
We're seeking an individual with hands-on experience leading quality improvement initiatives in complex service environments, who understands how governance, compliance, and financial sustainability intersect. You'll need to be confident interpreting legislation like the Child Safe Standards and NDIS Practice Standards, skilled in using data tools like Power BI or Excel to inform decisions, and capable of managing accreditation processes, writing grants, and contributing to strategic planning.
Qualifications & Licences
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field
- Current WA Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Check (WA)
- National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)

- Strong knowledge of sector-specific legislation and standards
- Experience in clinical governance and continuous improvement systems
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting platforms
- Background in grant writing, tender submissions, and partnership development
- Ability to lead quality initiatives with measurable outcomes
- Strategic planning experience with financial oversight
- Insight into emerging sector trends and their practical implications
- Sound decision-making under pressure with attention to detail
- Commercial awareness including budgeting and service positioning
- Forward-thinking approach to change management and resource planning
