WHS Business Partner - Out of Home Care - North Perth

We're passionate about providing safe and nurturing environments for vulnerable children and young people. We're looking for a WHS Business Partner to help us strengthen our proactive safety culture across a national organisation, supporting frontline staff who make a difference every day.

LOCATION

  • Flexible Location in either North Perth or South Perth (N Perth preferred)

Travel requirements for the role

  • Regular visits to all WA areas - Perth North, Perth South, Bunbury and Peel.
  • If based at Perth North, about 1 day/week at Perth South.
  • Approximately weekly/fortnightly visits to Bunbury and Peel, as needs basis dependent on current risks and trends.
  • Twice per year 3-4 days in Brisbane.

About the Role

As our WHS Business Partner, you'll work alongside operational teams to implement practical, proactive WHS strategies. You'll be the go-to person for safety advice, helping develop systems, tools, and training to embed a consistent and effective WHS approach. You'll also support incident investigations, risk management, and help grow the organisation's overall safety capability.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in WHS
  • Experience with WHS systems, risk assessments, audits, and investigations
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation and safety frameworks
  • Confident communicator who can train, engage, and influence at all levels
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and WHS platforms

Desirable Qualifications and experience

  • Return to Work Coordinator or Lead Auditor qualifications
  • Experience with ISO45001, youth services, or the not-for-profit sector
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation

Other Requirements

  • Full work rights in Australia
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Willingness to undergo relevant background checks (e.g. Working with Children)
