Base pay range A$115,309.00/yr - A$127,184.00/yr Drive a Culture of Care and Safety Across the City Are you a passionate safety professional ready to lead cultural change and embed best-practice WHS across a diverse organisation? The City of Canning is seeking a proactive and experienced WHS Business Partner to champion our Culture of Care program and ensure our WHS Management System is fit for purpose.
About the role This role is responsible for delivering strategic and operational WHS initiatives that support a safe, healthy, and thriving workplace.
You'll work closely with leaders and teams across the City to embed safety-first thinking, manage complex cases, and lead investigations.
You'll also play a key role in developing systems, tools, and training that align with our six Culture of Care priority areas.
What you'll be doing Lead the implementation and monitoring of the Culture of Care Program Develop and embed WHS systems, tools, and training packages Provide expert advice to leaders on WHS frameworks and risk management Manage complex injury and fitness-for-work cases (work and non-work related) Lead WHS investigations and ensure compliance with legislation and licensing requirements Maintain WHS risk registers and assurance processes Coach and support People Leaders in WHS best practice Prepare reports, proposals, and briefings to support strategic decision-making Facilitate training and awareness sessions across the organisation Oversee the optimisation of the City's Viking My OSH software What you will bring to the role Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or related field Minimum 8 years' experience in WHS roles within complex organisations Strong project management and cultural change experience Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills Experience managing complex injury cases and WHS investigations Proven ability to develop and implement WHS Management Systems Highly developed report writing and strategic thinking skills Current WA "C" Class Driver's Licence and National Police Clearance For a closer look at the role please refer to the Position Description attached to the vacancy in our recruitment portal.
