About us

Eden Garden Fresh Market is a thriving continental supermarket located in Mernda, VIC. We specialise in fresh fruit and vegetables, Mediterranean and European grocery items, and serve a growing local community with quality products and outstanding service. As we expand, we are looking for a dedicated and experienced Shop Manager to join and lead our team. Salary on offer is $70,000–$80,000 plus super based on experience.

Role Overview

We're seeking a motivated Shop Manager with proven experience in retail, especially in fresh produce and grocery operations. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations, staff supervision, inventory control, and ensuring high standards of customer service and store presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily supermarket operations
  • Lead, train, and supervise staff
  • Manage stock levels, orders, and supplier relations
  • Ensure product quality, particularly fresh produce
  • Maintain merchandising and cleanliness standards
  • Prepare rosters and assist with payroll reporting
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and OH&S regulations
  • Handle customer service issues and drive satisfaction
  • Assist with sales reporting and budgeting

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 2–3 years of retail management experience
  • Strong knowledge of fruit, vegetables, and grocery products
  • Excellent leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with POS and inventory systems
  • Experience in a continental/ethnic supermarket is a plus
