ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our NSW Water team and play a key role in the delivery of innovative water treatment projects.
This position is ideal for an engineer with 4–6 years of experience who has developed a solid foundation in project delivery and is now looking to take on greater ownership of projects — from planning and procurement through to construction, commissioning, and client handover. The role is predominantly office-based, with periodic site involvement to support installation, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
At Enviropacific, we are committed to the professional growth of our people. You will work closely with senior project managers and technical specialists while progressively taking responsibility for your own work packages, budgets, and client relationships. This role offers a clear development pathway toward Project Management, supported by mentoring, diverse project exposure, and structured professional development.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the successful execution of water treatment projects across NSW. You will manage both technical and commercial elements of projects, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing assigned work packages — including scope, schedule, budget, and quality performance.
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation, including schedules, progress reports, meeting minutes, and compliance records.
- Leading procurement activities, including supplier engagement, tender evaluations, and purchase order administration.
- Contributing to tender and proposal development, including cost estimation and methodology input.
- Coordinating subcontractors and internal teams to achieve project milestones and resolve technical or delivery challenges.
- Supporting commissioning and performance testing, including liaison with clients and technical teams.
- Assisting project managers with financial tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
- Driving compliance with Enviropacific's HSEQ standards and client requirements at all stages of project execution.
This role will see you actively involved in multiple concurrent projects — balancing technical problem-solving, client engagement, and project coordination responsibilities.
ABOUT YOU
This opportunity will suit an engineer who has gained several years of practical project delivery experience and is ready to broaden their responsibility and leadership scope. You'll be motivated by seeing projects through from concept to completion, comfortable engaging with clients and subcontractors, and keen to continue building your commercial and project management skills.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil, or other related field.
- 4–6 years' professional engineering experience, ideally within water treatment, environmental services, or related process industries.
- Proven experience in project delivery — including planning, procurement, reporting, and subcontractor coordination.
- Strong technical understanding of process systems, mechanical or civil works, and site interfaces.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence engaging clients and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
- A good understanding of project cost control, scheduling, and contract administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to scheduling or project management tools is an advantage.
- A current driver's licence and a Construction Induction Card (White Card).
