Join a team like no other with career support to take you further We are looking for a Data Officer to join our team for 6 months in Herston.

As the Data Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that complete, correct and reliable records of communicable diseases data and /or public health data are entered and maintained in the information systems. Additionally, you will conduct data reconciliation and other information management tasks to ensure complete, correct and reliable records are maintained in the high volume data environment of the Communicable Diseases Unit.

What you'll do

  • Review and analyse data collections to identify and correct data quality concerns and to improve the efficiency of data entry and processing.
  • Process and respond to issues and correspondence from stakeholders, in line with established policy, protocols and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of data collection practices and information systems related to communicable diseases and public health data.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, especially data providers, to identify and correct missing data and/or inaccuracies in data.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

  • Demonstrated skills in entering and maintaining complete, correct, and reliable records of communicable diseases data or other public health data.
  • Demonstrated skills in the review and analyse data collections to identify and correct data quality concerns and to improve the efficiency of data entry and processing.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer operations and packages to collect and manage records of communicable diseases data and /or public health data.
  • Demonstrated skills in communication and interpersonal relations, ability to liaise with providers and users of data.
  • Demonstrated skills in the organisation of workflows, schedules, and standard operating procedures.
